It is a priviledge to head the applied Science and humanitties department,as well as first year coordinator.For all engineering subjects basic knowledge of science and good communication skill is necessary requirement.The subjects Physics,Chemistry,Mathematics,Environmental science and Communication skills are the roots of big tree called engineering.if the root is weak the tree can not exist.In our department we have highly qualified experienced faculties who helps the students to build the base of their carrer so that afterwords they can pursue their dreams in different branches of engineering and wish the students after compliting first year will be enriched with not only scientific knowledges but also fool ethical values.

Chemistry lab provides an opportunity for students to transform their basic chemistry knowledge into practical. It has a number of equipments and other basic infrastructure needed to facilitate to perform different types of experiments as prescribed in the syllabus of AICTE, DTE and MU.

The Language Laboratory was inaugurated in 2014 which is spacious and well furnished. There are 30 computer systems with internet facility. To enhance the knowledge of the students “Odell Software” has been installed in the Language Laboratory. This laboratory helps the students to improve their communication skills -Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Faculties can provide learning materials according to the specific needs of the students and also guide them in overcoming their inhibitions. It also has a projector which is used by the faculty and students for presentations.

Sem 1Applied Mathematics-IApply the concept of complex number to the engineering problem. Apply the knowledge of nth order derivative of std functions to the Engineering problems. Understands the principle of basic operation of matrices to Engineering problems Apply SCILAB programming techniques to solve simultaneous linear algebraic equation engineering activities. Apply the basics principles of partial differentiation to the engineering problems Apply concepts of partial differentiation (jaccobian ,maxima, minima, expansion ) to the engineering problems.

Applied Chemistry-IStudents will understand different types of Hardness of water. They will also learn to estimate hardness of water using soap and EDTA method Students get the idea about whole water treatment process system which is suitable for domestic and industry purpose. Students get the idea about function of lubricant and their mechanism depend on machines. Student will be able to co-relate to different states with respect to different parameters using Phase Rule Student get the idea about different types polymer with manufacturing process, uses of polymer and carbon nanotubes in day today life.
Engineering MechanicsStudents should be able to identify all the forces associated with a static frame work. Students should be able to calculate the centre of gravity and its significance and locate the same. To help the students to correlate real life application to specific type of friction and estimate required force to overcome friction. To help the students to establish relation between velocity and acceleration of a particle and analyse the motion by plotting the relation. students should be able to find out instantaneous centre of rotation for rigid body. Students will analyse body in motion using force and acceleration, work-energy, impulse-momentum principles.
Basic Electrical & Electronic EngineeringStudents will get fundamentals of DC Circuits and will be able to apply the knowledge of network theorems in DC circuits Students will understand the fundamentals of Single AC circuits and able to analyze single phase AC circuits Students will get basic idea of transformer and will be to analyze the performance of transformers Students will understand the fundamentals of 3 phase AC circuits and construction and basic operation of DC machines
Environmental StudiesStudents will understand the concept of environmental degradation and ecosystem Students will be able to apply sustainable development concept in real life situations. Students will be acquainted with the types of pollution, solutions to stop it and idea about pollution control legislation. . Students will be able to apply technological advancements to use renewable sources of energy and to overcome environmental problems

Applied Physics-IIStudents will be able to adequate to understand and calculate fundamental parameters of Interference Diffraction Students will be able to understand principle, working and application of different type of laser and opticl fiber. Student will be able to differentiate different co-ordinate system, and basic fundamental of Maxwell's equation Students will be able to understand concepts of focusing and will able to formulate application of CRO and its analysis. Applied Chemistry-IIStudents get the idea about of different types of fuels, including their production, refining methods and combustion mechanism. Students able to calculate the quantity of air and oxygen required for the the complete combustion of fuels. Students get the idea about the mechanism of corrosion,method of prevention of corrosion. Also understand the properties and uses of various alloys. Student get the idea Composite Materials, Incorporate knowledge of green synthesis of various chemical with calculation of atom economy by various methods.
Engineering Drawing: Students will be able to know and understand the conventions and the methods of engineering drawing. Students will be able to read a given drawing. Students will be able to apply the basic principles of projections in converting 3D view to 2D drawing Students will be Visualize an object from the given two views. To help the students to use CAD tool to draw different views of 3D object and use CAD tool to draw an object in 3D
Structured Programming Approach Students get the idea of basics of computer programming and steps to solve problems using algorithm and flowchart. Students get the idea about the fundamentals of c programming like tokens, operators, data input and output functions. Students shall be able to use various branching ,looping and control structures to solve various problems Students know how to solve problems using functions, recursive functions and how to use various storage classes in programs Students will know the concept of array and the various applications of array. Students will know the concepts and applications of string, structures and union. Students will know how to use dynamic memory allocation using pointers and manipulation of files using various functions in C.
Communication SkillsStudents develop the ability to understand the importance of communication, fundamentals and its usage in social context related with every day and professional lives. Students not only understand the process of oral communication but also develop message generating and delivery skills, gain insight into their own speaking styles. Students acquire the letter writing skills and can write letters in any given situation paying attention to the writers objectives, the reader?s needs, the reader-writer relationship and the context. Students learn all the important aspects of reading including skimming, scanning, note-making and understand the essentials of grammar, tenses and learn to differentiate between them
